Aim/Results

Plasma and CSF levels of MMP3 were significantly lower in AD patients than in controls. Moreover, plsama levels of MMP3 activity was significantly correlated with the MMSE scores

What is Required from Patients

Invasive lumbar puncture, discomfort, recovery time in clinic to decrease risk of spinal fluid leakage OR blood draw, mild discomfort, in clinic visits

What is Required from the Health System

Physician who can preform a lumbar puncture as well as a clinic designed for this testing, equipped lab (e.g., centrifuge), a way to measure the peptide (e.g., mass spectrometer, protein assay kit, ELISA, or western blot) OR phlebotomist, equipped lab (e.g., centrifuge), a way to measure the peptide (e.g., mass spectrometer, protein assay kit, ELISA, western blot, or qPCR)
