Advocating for Alzheimer’s Research Funding

Washington, DC (March 7, 2025) – Today, Greg O’Brien, board member of UsAgainstAlzheimer’s, will speak at the Stand Up for Science rally alongside other speakers including Rep. Bill Foster (D-IL-11), Dr. Atul Gawande, Dr. Gretchen Goldman, Dr. Phil Plait, and other patient advocates.

O’Brien, a strong advocate for Alzheimer’s research, will share his personal experience with the disease, highlighting the critical need for continued and increased funding for research. His speech will address the ongoing struggles of those living with Alzheimer’s, stressing the deep impact the disease has on individuals and their families. O’Brien will also call on policymakers to prioritize science and research funding to better support those affected by Alzheimer’s.

The Stand Up for Science rally will take place across Washington, D.C., New York City, Chicago, San Francisco, and 28 other cities nationwide. He will urge lawmakers from both sides of the aisle to unite in ensuring the continuation of Alzheimer’s research.
